CfP: LAPASEC 2027, 'Industry and Idleness: Labour, Luxury and the British Empire in the Long Eighteenth Century' (Universität Duisburg-Essen, Germany)

Please find linked here a call for papers which will interest anyone working on the environmental, social, economic, or labour history of the eighteenth century. The conference, held as part of the Landau-Paris Symposia on the Eighteenth Century series, is entitled 'Industry and Idleness: Labour, Luxury and the British Empire in the Long Eighteenth Century.' It will be held at the Universität Duisburg-Essen in Essen, Germany, from the 2 to 4 April 2027.

The organisers are accepting proposals (in English, French, or German) until 20 May 2026, to be emailed to lapasec_essen@uni-due.de.
