The CfP has been released for the 14th bienniel European Society for Environmental History conference will be held in Salzburg, Austria from 7-10 September, 2027. The conference, in reaction to the funding cuts which have increasingly siloed research in the humanities within narrow disciplinary boundaries, is encouraging papers, panels, book presentations, posters, and roundtables from a breadth of disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches, as well as submissions which take forms different to the standard format for an academic paper. Participation is both in-person and online; travel grants are available, as are reduced fees for postgraduates.

Abstracts are to be submitted via an online portal by 15 October 2026. The full CfP, including a link to the submission portal, details of abstracts (differing between paper formats), and other details, can be found here.
